Avocado Tuna Salad with Lemon and Cilantro

This Avocado Tuna Salad with Lemon and Cilantro is simple and bursting with some of the best flavors and ingredients. You can serve this tuns salad as a side with dinner or as a satisfying lunch. Trust me, it’s come in handy for me and hubby when we’re looking for something quick and loaded with protein.

I absolutely love avocado, and mixing it with the yogurt, gives the tuna salad recipe the exact amount of healthy creaminess l was looking for. The lemon juice, cilantro, and parsley give it an incredible amount of fresh flavor. I promise it’ll become one of your favorite summer recipes.


What Kind of Tuna is Best for Tuna Salad?

We used drained Chunk Light Tuna in water for more flavor and it seems to hold it’s form better, but you can substitute for tuna in oil if you prefer.

Avocado Tuna Salad with Lemon and Cilantro Recipe

  • 15 oz tuna in oil, drained and flaked (3 small cans)
  • 4 hard boiled eggs
  • 2 large or 3 medium avocados peeled, pitted & sliced
  • 1 small/medium red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro and parsley (1/2 of a small bunch)
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt or to taste
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

  1. In a large salad bowl, combine: sliced avocado, 4 thinly sliced hard boiled eggs, red onion, drained tuna, 1/4 cup cilantro and parsley,
  2. Drizzle salad ingredients with 2 Tbsp lemon juice, 1 cup of chobani plain greek yogurt, 2 Tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper (or season to taste).
  3. Toss to combine and serve.
