Instagram has taken picture taking to the next level. To the point that we can’t help but capture every moment or event and share it with others. It’s become so intense, that taking a “selfie” is now apart of some peoples daily routine. People are actually getting paid just to take pictures of themselves daily…which is another topic in itself. But we all know how much time and effort it takes to get the right selfie. And how important it is to have the right lighting from the perfect angle, it’s work. You can’t just post anything, you gotta look good!
Sadly, we live in a generation that put’s a large importance on looking good and taking selfies. Taking self-ies, is a self expression but can easily become excessive. Excessive with our time but most importantly our self-focus. Again, we take time to get the perfect selfie. And whatever we post, we have to look and feel good about it. You already know, more hearts equals more likes…and everyone wants to be liked. And if you’re not grounded in the God’s word, about who’s and whom you are, you can easily become consumed by OTHERS self-perception of you.
I’m not saying don’t ever post another selfie, because personally, I know I will. But refuse to be self- focused. Don’t allow what’s around you to consume your character, faith, and trust in yourself and God.
You are called to BE a light to those around you. Let your light shine in ways that’s pleasing to God and BE unapologetic about it.
Allow God to have full range over your life and dreams. You deserve to experience the best in life and by faith it’s possible. Again, refuse self-focus and don’t let it stop you from receiving God’s best! Thanks for reading and #SimplyBE
