Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I hope you’re enjoying your day with family and friends as much as I am. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Particularly for the gathering of family, friends, food, and lots of love. And of course, we can’t forget the whole reason behind Thanksgiving it’s self, which is to give “thanks”. Thanks for what we have, thanks for what God has done, and the list goes on and on. But I’m starting to realize that we put so much emphasis on giving “thanks” during Thanksgiving, that we neglect to give.
Thanksgiving isn’t solely about giving thanks, it’s also about “giving”.
Why should we wait another month or two just to give? We should always want to give.
I want to make this a reminder to myself and those around me to not only give thanks but actually give back. During the holiday seasons, many families feed the homeless, make toiletry bags, or simply give to those around them with time. But I encourage you to make giving personal to you, it’s not always about what you do, but the heart and motive behind it. Your giving could be as simple as inviting a family over to eat dinner, buying groceries for a family in need, or even making cookies. No matter what you do, make sure it’s purposeful and done for the right reasons.
Our main reason for giving should always BE an opportunity to share, and BE a reflection of God’s love through our actions.
But again, I challenge you to make your giving personal. Seek God on what’s the best way for you to give and be a blessing through Him. May God be pleased with your giving of thanks and your blessing of giving. Happy Thanksgiving and #SimplyBE!!!
